The Darin C. Banks Foundation - Promoting Higher Education, Character Building, and Service
About Us

The Darin C. Banks Foundation, a 501c3 organization, was formed in honor of Darin Catrell Banks, a wonderful husband, seasoned procurement professional, mentor and philanthropist.  Darin passed away on January 4, 2009.  During Darin's life, he worked tirelessly to achieve his educational and professional goals.

A graduate of Cass Technical High School in Detroit Michigan, Darin received academic scholarships to attend Michigan State University.  Yet, he was well acquainted with the financial challenges paying for college can pose for students.  In addition to support from his family, he also worked while attending class.  Graduating from State with his Bachelor's degree, he also earned his Master of Business Administration, MBA, from Wayne State University.

Darin and his wife Michelle were dedicated to contributing both their time and money to a number of charities aimed at improving literacy, providing job training programs,
and awarding college scholarships.  In addition, he mentored students, new college graduates, and employees by encouraging them to pursue their educational goals, and by providing them with advice to navigate their careers.

The Darin C. Banks Foundation seeks to afford college bound students with educational opportunities by awarding college scholarships. In addition, the Foundation
coordinates mentoring programs designed to encourage students to explore potential career paths, build character, and promote volunteer service.

The Darin C. Banks Foundation thanks you in advance for your generosity and for believing in today’s youth and tomorrow’s leaders.
